I worked with Lauren for over 6 years at Edmond Shipway. Lauren attended Nottingham University on day release where she excelled, winning awards for her academic studies. I worked with Lauren on a number of projects in hospitality and retail sectors (mainly in the hotel sector) some clients asked for her involvement on repeat projects which shows the dedication and commitment Lauren put into each and every one of her projects. Lauren has excellent IT and communication skills and is also not afraid to role her sleeves up to ensure projects are delivered successfully

Having worked alongside Lauren for over 6 years, being her line manager for 2 of them, I have seen her develop into a complete Project Manger. Lauren has a wide knowledge base, completing projects in the leisure, hospitality, retail and residential sectors. Whilst working in these sectors, Lauren is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure successful delivery for Clients. Lauren is not only hardworking, but also has a wide knowledge base, great communication skills and is professional in anything she does. The tasks which Lauren completes are always done efficiently and to the highest of standards. Lauren is a great asset for any company to have and I have no doubt that she will go far in her career.

I began my role at Edmond Shipway LLP as a Trainee Project Manager whilst completing my degree at Nottingham Trent University, following achieving a first in my degree I was promoted to Project Manager. I have acted as the Employers Agent to carry out the full refurbishment of 1,162Nr guestrooms and the soft refurbishment of a further 2,652Nr, gradually progressing from assistant to providing the role myself. The works comprised stripping out the guestrooms to varying levels in order to upgrade them to the latest specifications. It was also my responsibility throughout this roll-out to procure the FF&E and ensure that the items were delivered to site on programme and within budget. I have completed the above roles for a number of hotels, including Indigo Hotels, Holiday Inn Expresses, Holiday Inns, Hilton Garden Inns and Doubletree by Hilton. This has enabled me to develop my project management skills and provided the opportunity to demonstrate my ability to manage projects both on and off site to ensure critical dates are met, significant risks to opening dates are mitigated and budgets are not exceeded. Following the completion of the refurbishments I have been acting as the sole Employers Agent for the construction of extensions, a spa, three large public area refurbishments and a 118nr guestroom refurbishment to a number of Holiday Inn Express hotels, during such time it was also my responsibility to procure the direct FF&E for all of these projects. I have also developed my knowledge of other sectors, acting as Employers Agent for a new two-storey step down unit containing four bedsits and two apartments to a healthcare facility. Show less

My main responsibilities include keeping my department well faced and well stocked. I sort deliveries, assist customers with their product requirements and advise on sizing and the most suitable products for their needs. I have responsibility for making sure my section of the department is laid out to cad plan and making suitable levels of profit. My two missions include looking after the departments customer orders and looking after certain 'blue products' by making sure members of staff complete the task I delegate to them. More recently I have been organising a fashion show for the store, which has involved working to a budget, presenting my ideas in the managers meeting and coordinating other members of staff to take part. During my work experience I shadowed a project manager, this involved liaising with clients in meetings. I attended meetings such as a pre-start meeting held for a large project and also numerous tender and project meetings. This also involved site visits in order to review the progress of the project. During my week at Cox Freeman I was given a brief to produce a concept design of a dwelling and went on to produce planning drawings using AutoCad. I then I undertook a mock planning application before producing mood boards and drawing my building in Google SketchUp.
