Confident, Courageous, Conscientious, Creative, Cooperative all describe Lauren Russek! She is an amazing team player and can not just lead but energize and empower hundreds of volunteers with just about any project. As an event planner and executor, she is meticulous in her details, thinking way beyond the norm, not leaving anything overlooked for resources needed for a successful event. Bottom line, Lauren made me and our department look good and was a major part of its success. Lauren needs very little oversight once you give her direction and when I am able, I will pursue Lauren to follow me in my career to be on my team again! Lauren is an asset to any organization where she is serving!

I am pleased to offer a stellar recommendation for one of the most outstanding young professionals ever! Lauren Russek served as an intern with our Marketing & Communications department for nearly one year while a student at Towson University. During that time, she treated the assignment like a full-time position. Lauren was with us three days each week and performed as a full member of our team. Among her responsibilities, Lauren drafted press releases and media alerts; pitched the media by phone and email; wrote contributed articles about our various programs and initiatives; submitted numerous blog posts; visited the build sites for photos and real time social media posting; and so much more. While we are sad to be losing this remarkable young woman, we are so proud of her decision to join AmeriCorps in order to gain additional experience and knowledge as she commits service to our country. We wish Lauren the best of luck in her every future endeavor and can only hope she will return as a member of our team in the future.

During this intentional travel time, I embraced varied international and domestic educational opportunities where I strengthened my relationship-building and communication skills. During this period, I completed an 800-mile bicycle tour in Vietnam, volunteered at a historic nature preserve in Boone, North Carolina and worked at an organic farm in eastern Tennessee. These activities have proven my ability to learn in unique environments and build connections within diverse populations. Collaborated with corporate, faith, civic and school partners to foster widespread engagement.
