Envisioned, planned, and executed an independent interview-based ethnographic research project funded by Northwestern's 2022 Summer Undergraduate Research Grant. I created an archive of oral histories of college-aged queer (LGBTQIA+) Christians and ex-Christians. I independently recruited 12 participants to participate in thorough ethnographic interviews, which I both recorded and facilitated. I created an archive of oral histories of college-aged queer (LGBTQIA+) Christians and ex-Christians. I independently recruited 12 participants to participate in thorough ethnographic interviews, which I both recorded and facilitated. As an interviewer, I quickly learned how to create and adapt interview questions to the specific experiences and characteristics of each individual; because of the sensitive nature of the content I was researching, I closely monitored interviewees' emotional cues in order to manage topics in a way that maintained their comfortability discussing their experiences.
