Andrew Shaw MBCS
Lauren has been a great Student Engagement Co-ordinator for the British Computer Society (BCS), whilst I have worked alongside her when I have been volunteering with the BCS and helping the student chapters. She has been very approachable, willing to develop and discuss ideas as to how the Student Chapters and the wider BCS can be developed to promote diversity and inclusion in the IT industry, and has responded to challenges she has been faced with very positively. Lauren has developed great relationships with both students and lecturers at different universities within the UK, supported the development of the existing BCS student chapters and has helped to establish new BCS student chapters within the UK, as well as supporting different BCS Student Chapters with any events they have organised. Lauren has also supported myself with talks I have delivered to the different BCS student chapters, by introducing me to students at different universities, as well as developing links to students from different BCS student chapters can connect to some of the different BCS Specialist Groups that exist, increasing diversity and inclusion. Working with Lauren was a real pleasure and I would happily work with her again.
