  I have resigned my position at Hopi Jr/Sr High School after 24 years. I became the school counselor at KCES in August. I have always worked at the Jr High and Sr High level and this is my first experience with working with students from k-6th grades. It has been a learning experience that I am becoming to love every day. The young children are a real joy! I do individual and group counseling with students. I also do classroom presentations in the classrooms on social skills, bullying presentations, and emotional issues. I am the student council sponsor. I have also become responsible for bringing PBIS to the school along with AVID. I continue to work with parents and have on my agenda doing educational presentations for parents in social and emotional. The staff at KCES are awesome and I work well with everyone. I have a very supportive principal and look forward to improving the counseling program for next year. Show less

  I am the school counselor for grades 9-10th grades. I work with approximately 200 students a year. I work with scheduling classes, testing, career and college readiness preparation, parent education and involvement, academic progress, and social issues with students. I am also the Upward Bound site sponsor through Northern Arizona University for the last 9 years. I started the Student of the Month program in the high school. I also plan and take students on various college trips. I have started the ECAP program. I have been active in revising the master schedule and participating in the leadership meetings with the administrators. I am a certified Family and Consumer Science teacher and a certified School Counselor. I am currently working on getting my NBPTS certification. Show less
