I had the good fortune of working with Laura throughout the course of the Next Generation Management Module of my Master’s Program (Msc eCommerce) in Dublin City University in 2011-12 (Laura was completing MBS in Marketing). Laura was a thoroughly excellent team-player and leader of a multi-disciplinary team of Masters students. She has a very strong work ethic and ability to foster enthusiasm and a results driven ethos within a team. Large organizations would benefit from Laura’s ability to network effectively, and deliver on fast-paced, complex projects with overlapping deadlines. I would have absolutely zero hesitation in recommending Laura based on my experience of the work we completed together during our Masters programs.
Pierre McDonagh
Laura was a BBS Honours graduate from Trinity College Dublin when she joined DCU to read the MSc in Marketing in 2011-12 on which I taught her Sustainability Marketing during the second semester. As an educator it is always great to have a fellow educator join your class to stimulate discussion and lead a team both of which she did par excellence. For instance her team won the Johnson and Johnson externship account work for their outstanding ideas on how sustainability will impact the disposable contact lens market. She had to work with complex carbon foot printing data and with engineering colleagues at Rutgers to resolve the best client advice for this live project. Laura has a consistent record of academic excellence in her postgraduate studies. She just keeps winning no doubt related to her addiction to sports but also because her enthusiasm is infectious for others who follow her example! We were disappointed when she announced she was heading to industry not academia after her studies but not surprised. The quality of her academic work across all subjects, time management and time keeping are excellent. Laura is a confident and relaxed presenter and uses media very well. She is professional in all client meetings and represented the University extremely well. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her unreservedly to any future employer. Laura will be leading a marketing team in the future using her digital marketing skills to the full. She is pleasant, presentable and a very capable individual. Laura has a bright career ahead of her and will be an asset to any marketing led organisation either in Ireland or overseas in the future

Through this masters I was involved in various elements of traditional but predominantly digital marketing communications. The course allowed me to work with live clients across numerous projects, working as part of a team to create a new brand development campaign for Vodafone, a sustainability initiative for Vistakon (under their parent company Johnson and Johnson), a digital marketing campaign with AIM Cash and Carry, event planning with UNICEF to name but a few, these projects have given me real life experience dealing with brands and communicating with clients. Part of the course was focused on Next Generation Management, a module which is focused on personal development through innovation and client based team projects; working with students across the business academic, from Business management as well as E-Commerce. Through Personal Development, Research, Business and Society and Digital Marketing, the Next Generation Management module has given me a competitive advantage in the working environment. In particular digital communications allowed me to develop a Social media campaign for my client AIM Group, this involved competing in the Google Online Marketing Challenge, creating a SEO report, as well as engaging in Facebook ads, and other forms of social media. My practicum, for which I received a first class honours, involved primary and secondary research into the mobile application development industry. In the final months of my Masters in Marketing, I worked as part of a four person team on a sponsored practicum project in conjunction with the Developer Evangelist team in Microsoft Ireland. I developed a broad collection of skills not only in market research but also across event management, social media communications and data analysis. Please see a description of my practicum below.
