I worked under Laura during a time of critical transition in Ultimaker USA history. The US-based team was initially a handful of us working from distributed locations, reporting to UM’s Netherlands headquarters. Laura joined the team just as the Boston-based office was opened. As a remote employee, I then reported to a newly hired layer of management. Many of us have been in this position, and know it can be challenging and present complexities in communication, workflow, etc. Due to Laura‘s management style, it was a pleasure to work under her and learn from her. I could operate with new support, knowing that I now had someone with deeper experience than I did to help navigate the terrain as we established the US-based events and marketing program. Laura is a voice of sanity and offers really great perspective, while allowing her team to work with a sense of agency and clear workflow. As our team worked to adapt to the new structure and increase our US presence, time and time again I appreciated Laura‘s guidance, and her expression of faith in my ability to do my job. Laura is somebody that listens before she speaks, and she took the time to assess our existing programs and resources, and truly allowed her inherited team to be a part of the process of building out the marketing department. With her encouragement, I was encouraged to lean into areas of skill development that I was interested in, and I saw other team members that reported to her able to do the same. If another opportunity presented itself to work for Laura in a mission-based setting, I would jump. She is both an incredible manager and also a really good human, two things that I find essential in healthy working situations.

Laura’s impressive level of professionalism, attention-to-detail, deep functional expertise, and interpersonal skills are second to none. If you want something done, done well, done correctly, and done with a positive/contagious can-do attitude – Laura is the person for the job. This rare combination has made working with her so rewarding. I highly recommend Laura. Her intangible skill set is hard to train (if not impossible) and transcends any one specific company or industry, thus I want to highly recommend her for any marketing roles!
