True Blue Visit Coordinator

After two years of serving as a Student Ambassador I was promoted to the role of True Blue Visit Coordinator. As visit coordinator I hire and manage first-year Butler students to host prospective students for a shadow experience at Butler. I work to pair hosts and prospective students based on year, major, and other interests to ensure the most enjoyable experience for Butler University visitors. These visits offer an opportunity for prospective students to shadow current Butler University students throughout their day. I work directly with an Office of Admission staff member to complete assigned tasks and special projects pertaining to our True Blue Visits. I also analyze data from visit evaluation forms to improve this visit program. Part of my position also includes helping to supervise and assign tasks to fellow student employees. Show less

Through this position I have developed excellent public speaking, interpersonal communication, and customer service skills. I was promoted in May 2019 to the position of Student Assistant to oversee the True Blue Visit Program.

As a True Blue visit host, I accompanied prospective Butler students during one-on-one immersion visits of campus. This included taking them to my classes, giving them a tour of campus, and answering any of their questions about life as a Butler bulldog.

As a Vegetation Sampling Intern I conduct research with the Butler Center for Urban Ecology and Sustainability for the Indianapolis Wildlife Watch Project. I collect and analyze vegetation structure data around multiple sites in Indianapolis as a part of a national urban wildlife research project. This project is part of the Urban Wildlife Information Network, coordinated by the Lincoln Park Zoo, Urban Wildlife Institute. As VP Finance for my sorority I created and managed a 1.4 million dollar budget. This budget included all of our house operations, sorority programming, and philanthropic efforts. I was also responsible for paying bills in a timely manner for all operations of the house and for all organization events. I kept an accurate record of members' charges and assigned bills to each month.
