This job has taught me not only specific coffee knowledge, but also how to connect interpersonal skills with time management. I work on a team with other baristas to create a smooth and positive experience for customers, while also prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment to make sure we are prepared for any unexpected challenges. The Media School at IU - GirlPowered! Game Development Camp Counselor
-
Jun 2016 - Jun 2016
The Media School at Indiana University launched a local initiative to engage more young women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers through a camp focusing on video game development. As a game counselor with the GirlPowered! camp, I worked with seven girls ages 13–17 teaching and helping them explore video game design skills and technology career paths. Our activities downplayed competitiveness, emphasized storytelling, and all counselors were female.
