Laura is one of those extraordinary people who brings a wealth of experience and creativity to everything she does, but executes in the most humble and kind manner. Laura's transition into the tech industry was seamless because she brought the perfect attitude to the table: curiosity. In executing her vision for Ciara's content on TraceMe, Laura adapted her editorial skills to a completely new medium, fighting patiently and respectfully for a strong, uplifting narrative. In addition to Laura's boundless creative energy and calm, respectful working style, she brings an abundance of emotional intelligence that unites people from across disciplines, fosters their talent and resolves conflict in an organic way. Laura is a natural leader through her ability to influence. She will always innovate, create, and bring joy to those she works with.

Originally incubated at Pioneer Square Labs, TraceMe was a mobile-first content platform that gave fans exclusive and intimate access to the lives of their favorite elite athletes, artists, and celebrities. We raised $9MM in funding from some of the biggest global investors and launched in September 2018 with Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, who also co-founded the company. I primarily directed and produced content for the pop artist Ciara, who debuted on TraceMe on February 15, 2018 and used the platform to establish an expanded brand identity. We kicked off the drop of her first single in more than three years, and executed an overall relaunch (and rewrite) of her public persona. Over a period of 14 months, I concepted and directed the strategy, production, and creative for multiple "big moments" in-app and off. These were primarily short-form, mobile-first video, but we also produced and tested text-, image-, and audio-based storytelling. I also drove content and strategy for fan features and community experiences across all celebrities on the app. Think: Chat environments and trivia challenges complete with a point system, leaderboards, and ranking. • Senior Editor, Digital Strategy: Creative Projects & Designer Marketing
      • Sep 2013 - Jun 2017

The Digital Strategy/Creative Projects team acted as a creative agency inside Nordstrom; we responded to needs from the buyers and marketers of Designer Collections, Pop-In, NxN, and SPACE. We worked strategically and creatively with Olivia Kim (Nordstrom VP of Creative Projects) on each month's Pop-In refresh as well as the seasonal brand campaigns she directed and her highly innovative and successful partnerships with Hermes, Nike, Chanel, and more. As the Senior Editor on this team, my job involved strategy and collaboration with internal and external partners as well as writing, editing, directing, and producing digital content with some of the most interesting hearts and minds in style, retail, art, and culture around the world. I traveled to Fashion Weeks in New York, London, and Paris 2x/year to document Nordstrom's fashion point of view and to interview, photograph, and film leading designers and collections. Show less

Lifestyle Editor, Seattle Met (May '06-March '07) Style Editor, Seattle Met (March '07-September '14) Editor in Chief, Seattle Met Bride & Groom (March '07-September '14) Editorial Director, SagaCity Bride & Groom (July '10-September '14) As one of the founding editors at Seattle Met, I crafted and launched the voice and direction of the award-winning magazine's fashion, shopping, and retail coverage and, with the downturn in '07, I helped develop the look and feel/tone and voice of our related digital platforms. I also ran the editorial side of our incredibly profitable biannual Bride & Groom publications, helming the local title and overseeing editors in Portland, WA and Park City, UT. Because of my unique position and interests, I often collaborated with our in-house advertising and marketing team as well as outside media partners and advertisers to develop parties, fashion shows, pop-ups, showcases, and other community events. Staff Writer (Feb '00-April '02) Interim Music Editor (April '02-Dec '03) Food Columnist, Food Editor (Dec '03-May '06) I wrote critical but conversational profiles, features, and stories aimed at helping people use their city in the most interesting and intelligent ways. I devised an inclusive column around the onset of the slow and local food movements. The column was an exchange of information and ideas for the then-burgeoning food community. I hired crews for film and video projects, rented studios and equipment, and created budgets and project estimates. I worked both on location and remotely with large and small crews, often wearing a number of hats from location manager to teleprompter operator to craft services.
