May 2013 - Present
On May 20, 2013, my son, Zach Sobiech, died from a rare bone cancer just days after his eighteenth birthday. Two days later, a song he wrote to say goodbye to his loved ones, a song called "Clouds, went viral. Millions of people across the globe clicked on a the video of that song and heard for the first time about a boy who chose to truly live while dying - a boy who chose to fly a little higher."Clouds" went on to reach #1 on iTunes where it stayed for four days, making it the first song written and preformed by an unknown artist to make it to that level without the backing of a major record label and virtually no radio play.Zach once said, "I want everyone to know you don't have to find out you're dying to start living." In my book, "Fly a Little Higher: How God Answered a Mom's Small Prayer in a Big Way," I tell the story of how Zach chose to live his life to the absolute fullest and, in doing so, brought hope to a world that so desperately needs it. In addition to the book, I continue to share our story by blogging, writing articles and speaking at various community, non-profit and corporate events, as well as to youth groups, schools, and churches."Life is really just beautiful moments one right after the other." ~ Zach Sobiech
