Tom Beckenham
Laura was our first permanent employee at Comma. She hired initially in a commercial role and was instrumental in setting up our pilot program with accountants that led to our seed round. From there it was clear from her technical ability that she was destined for a career in product or engineering. She supported customers on a technical level as the product was being built. She was the one person in the company that knew everything about how the product worked and how to work around early technical problems in our payments product. She expressed interest in moving deeper technically and undertook a journey to become a software engineer. Laura is someone I relied on and was a key component of our early team. She was a pleasure to work with and is obviously destined for great things to come.

I have worked on some breakout tasks with Laura during Software Engineering Immersive at GA. Laura is great with debugging, logical thinking, creativity and communicates efficiently. I enjoyed all of the projects presented by Laura as the code was clean and easy to understand, while the projects seemed very genuine and represented what is important to her. Laura has shared some career opportunities and industry knowledge that she has under her belt , which was greatly appreciated by our cohort. Laura already has her foot in the tech industry - but I can see her going much further!
