During my time at Drinkaware, my training involved how to supervise vulnerable students on nights out and use de-escalation to reduce tensions. I liaised with a number of other individuals from a variety of professions including; street pastors, security teams, bar staff, venue managers, paramedics and police officials. It was my job to assess potentially dangerous situations and protect students who were a risk either to themselves or others. My time there taught me a lot about being aware of my surroundings and using my initiative and negotiation skills to arrive at a solution.
