  I worked for two years as Process Engineer at Altair Chimica S.p.a., an Esseco company, in Saline di Volterra (PI). The job position was directly connected to Production Manager and it took place mainly on site, in production section of the plant. Main activities: Knowledge of technical characteristics of company’s production processes and products; Assistance and support to plant manager activities; Daily inspections of plant to detect and analyze critical points; R&D activities: improvement of processes performances and development of new production lines, making P&IDs, equipment sketches, AutoCAD drawings and instruments technical specifications; Start up activities of new production sections; Daily reports of company’s production and performances. In addition to these daily activities, I joined start up projects of the company. In particular, I had the oppurtunity to follow the start up of KOH Flakes plant, a new production of Altair Chimica S.p.a.. In particular, I started following the plant since erection, passing through commissioning and then final start up. I have been involved in this activity from March 2017 to August 2017. From September 2017 I started following the design of a complete electrolysis section for the production of NaOH. This included depuration plant of salt and cell room. I was involved in making P&IDs, design, sketches and purchasing of the necessary equipment. Then I followed erection, commissioning and final start up of the plant.   Theoretical analysis of cryogenic storage tanks in conditions of complete material segregation. Construction of a model to simulate level, pressure and temperature changes of storage tanks while loaded and isolated, for instance during a ship voyage or land storage, receiving heat from external environment. The model is implemented on Matlab and UniSim Design in dynamic mode and compared to experimental data. During this internship I had the chance to work occasionally for the company, in particular performing the following tasks:  Taking part in meetings of revision of company projects;  Phone calls with Italian and foreign suppliers for quotation requests;  PowerPoint presentation;  AutoCad drawing;  Review of design documentation.
