Internship as part of the 2nd Cycle Integrated Project in Biomedical Engineering, was conducted with the department of life sciences, more specifically, in the computational multi-omics research lab with the guidance of the Lab Leader Ana Rita Grosso and the Junior Researcher Paulo Caldas. Computational analyses and visualizations were based on open access tools - VAST-Tools and WebGestalt - and programming languages (Python, Unix). Our main goal was to determine the CD2AP causal mechanisms of synaptic dysfunction to assess how it increases the risk of LOAD and to identify new therapeutic targets, using tools such as CellProfiler to analyze images of neuron activity, I created a pipeline with this program to quantify proteins in different conditions make the proccess more automated and less biased.
