I identify new areas of research in electronic and optical technology of importance to readers and I compile a list of potential book projects. Then I liaise with a team of editorial advisors on which topics and editors/authors to include in the publishing programme. For each book I invite an appropriate editor or author and work with her/him to develop a set of contents. I monitor the progress of all projects regularly and sort out any problems which arise to ensure projects are completed on schedule. I agree the final structure for a book project with an editor or author and check the final manuscripts and resolve outstanding issues before handover to the editorial and production team.
