  Total Synthesis of Amphidinolide E. The four main fragments in to which this cytotoxic macrolide was disconnected were synthesised and their coupling was investigated. During the course of the synthesis we had to face different reaction optimisations and retrosynthetic analysis modifications. In particular, the study of several Julia–Kocienski reactions in some of the key steps in the synthesis was particularly challenging. We achieved the formal total synthesis of the Amphidinolide E.
