Regional Support Assistant
-
Aug 2006 - Mar 2015
I am currently assistant to the Station Manager; provide clerical and administrative support to the Stations, Operational and On-board teams. Liaise with the Customer Services Team Organiser to provide local support as required for the on-board managers. Minute any meetings required from Performance Improvement, Disciplinary to the Company Council Union. I co-ordinated the roll out of new uniform to all staff in Scotland in both 2009 and 2014 and co-ordinate uniforms for all teams throughout the year. I track the budgets, do all purchasing and liaising with suppliers and pay all invoices for the teams in Scotland. I also deal directly with our outside recruitment company in regard to our agency staff. Last year I took on the task of compiling all Praise & Complaints for the Stations and Travel Centre teams in Scotland, this includes a weekly report to the Station Manager of the status of all received from our Customer Relations Team in Portsmouth. In this role I have learned a variety of new skills including how to manage my time more effectively and prioritise the important tasks as well as how much time and effort it takes to run a business of this size to such a high standard. Manager / Licensee
-
Mar 2003 - Jun 2006
I took this role on without having once entered the bar; The Ivanhoe did 40 covers and was a challenge the minute I took over. I immediately closed the premises and cleaned it from top to bottom, the staff all needed trained on their customer service so I held training days each week and I take great pride in the fact that most of my staff have gone on to work in customer service again. I also redesigned the menu with the chef to make it more cost effective and appealing to a wider range of diners. Takings from the bar and restaurant were running at a negative week on week, by the time the building was bought to be converted, I had takings of over £5,000.00 being banked on a weekly basis. The role included; staff training, banking, weekly wages payments, food service, food ordering, drinks ordering, stock control, rostering, customer service, line cleaning and making sure the bar & kitchen were kept clean and tidy to Health & Safety standards. Assistant Manager
-
Jan 2003 - Mar 2004
I was assistant manager in the Arcade Bar and then progressed into being licensee / manager at the Ivanhoe Bar & Restaurant. Both of these pubs were very different, with different clientele. The Arcade did not offer food service but it was exceedingly busy with live entertainment every weekend and a very strong sense of being a local pub even though based in the centre of town. The role included; staff training, banking, food service, food ordering, drinks ordering, stock control, rostering, customer service, line cleaning and making sure the bar & kitchen were kept clean and tidy to Health & Safety standards Show less
