Cardiorespiratory and psycho-physical responses to shallow water Tabata-style (TS-SWE) HIT (high intensity training). Testing of subjects ran January-April 2015. This study adapted the Tabata protocol making it Tabata-style (4×4 minute rounds consisting of eight 20 second all out exercise intervals followed by 10 seconds of rest with 1 minute of rest between 4 minute bouts) and was executed in shallow water.Subjects completed 2 sessions. The first session consisted of anthropometrics (BOD POD) and a shallow water maximal exercise test. The second session consisted of a TS-SWE workout. Both protocols for session one and two were developed by myself and members of research team. While exercising, subjects wore headgear and 2-way breathing valve interfaced with a metabolic cart on the poolside. Two manuscripts were submitted for publication August 2015. Both manuscripts were published in the International Journal of Aquatic Research and Education April 2016. http://scholarworks.bgsu.edu/ijare/Research is being continued by future graduate students.
