I held full responsibility for the development and delivery of the Business Development Programme that included sales, marketing and relationship management in line with the company objectives. I was responsible for an annual budget to be allocated across core events and general business activity as well as individual budgets for new events, in line with event marketing plans, to ensure maximum exposure to each event’s target audience. I continuously sought additional sources of income by contributing to the development of new events and activity and commercialising existing events. In order to attract new bluechip sponsors and exhibitors to events such as Santander, Grand Central and Sage I developed new, more attractive sponsorship packages with tangible benefits and assisted these businesses in finding ways to positively enhance the visitor experience, ensuring they got the most from their sponsorship opportunities and so wanted to return. I was also expected to manage staff at events and escort VIP guests, including civic guests, military personnel and celebrities. In 2015 I led delivery of the North East Contact Centre Awards, coordinating the judges, entry process and the awards evening itself. New entries increased by over 40% on the previous year, due to local networking and getting to know the sector, it's key players and engaging them through a comprehensive PR plan. This in turn led to an increase in ticket sales. I secured a number of new sponsorship deals and created new propositions, increasing the profitability of the event. Show less
