Conference & Special Events Sales Coordinator
-
Apr 2010 - Present
Over the period to date, I have held the positions of head of conferencing and sales at a mid-sized hotel, and conference and special events coordinator at a large hotel, both with Moorfield. I am responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, whether B2B or B2C. I was originally brought into a failing hotel and tasked with creating revenue growth whilst improving customer satisfaction. Following strong revenue growth in the first location, I was recruited by the Area General manager and tasked with growing revenue at a large hotel, close to Coventry. To date, the key elements of my role have been: - Handling enquiries at every level from meeting business and consumer clients, formulating proposals and quotes and securing revenue. - Building the reputation of both the hotel and myself with the professional community through networking events. - Designing marketing materials, including brochures and flyers targeting professionals and consumers. - Conducting market analysis, including competitor reviews in the local area. - Liaising with all other departments to ensure events run smoothly, and revenues are maximised. - Delegating work to sales assistants and managing operational staff. - Training other staff to identify and develop sales opportunities, by designing and implementating interactive training sessions. - Assisting with the recruitment of staff, including designing job descriptions and interviewing candidates. As the first point of call for guests and conference delegates, I was expected to maintain professionalism at all times, and provide a solid first impression of the hotel. Additional duties included: - Responsible for the integration and training of new front office team members - Performed the role of A-Club ambassador, which entailed analysing sales data and proactively generating growth in the take up of the “A Club” loyalty card. - Coordinated a promotional marketing day within the hotel, coinciding with Chinese new year, to drive corporate sales. - Devised and led A-Club training sessions in order to educate and motivate colleagues to maximise sales - Represented the hotel in the Accor Hospitality Professions Challenge 2009, following my success as employee of the year.
