We are a Dover-based charity supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people through community art projects.Established in 2013, the vision was to use the great leveller and our passion - art in all its forms - to bring people together and to unleash potential and talent, to nurture confidence and a sense of belonging. We are battling loneliness and exclusion and the devastating effects of mental health issues with our work and encouraging people into a safe space where before they have found themselves on the fringes of society, for one reason or another that with no way back from there. We are proof, there is always hope.We operate from my GALLERY on Dover seafront which serves as a hub. However, we also run a number of outreach projects and our aspirations to push this further are now pulling at the leash. Our current focus are young carers, people living with dementia, people without a home and hospice patients. From coffee morning birdbox painting sessions to large collage projects, from art exhibition outings to life skills workshops, from pamper sessions to film and pizza events, from poetry writing to installation beach art - we are being as creative as possible in order to make a difference to the lives of those who have put their trust in us.Friendships have been forged, skills have been uncovered and the reward is seeing smiles and laughter and joy with people empowered, feeling able to make their own decisions, to acknowledge their dreams and start working towards them, in a place where there is no judgement – they can just be.We have linked in with local businesses, councils and like-minded charities on developing a variety of projects and have galvanised a cohesive network. We are now attracting wider interest from further afield with successful support and funding bids.We love what we do - we simply want to do more of it. Show less
