The role consisted of serving, helping, and advising customers on their sweet treats and shopping and purchasing choices. Making up sweet cones, window displays and refilling gummies, chocolates and other goods, as well as shutting up and opening the store alone enabled me to develop my confidence and customer relations. I was able to go in for a day to help out on an arts day before I went on a trip with the whole school to Western Super-mare. On this trip I had to supervise and watch the children whilst making sure the trip ran as smooth and stress free as possible. As my elected role as a student representative, it was my duty to ensure that my fellow students were satisfied with their learning experiences during their time at the University of Northampton. This entailed attending meetings with students and staff members alike to bring to the table the complaints and suggestions brought to me and my co-worker. Prior to these termly gatherings, one gladly communicated with the cohort about the issues and concerns before taking them to the appropriate members of staff. It was a great experience to have which opened me up to many other opportunities, such as organizing and helping with the departments Christmas party. Overall, it was a great experience from which I will take the skills I have built upon and gained throughout my time as a student representative, with me to my next leadership role.

As part of my degree we were allowed to put on our own show. This meant we were to raise our own funding and project advertisements to publicise our event. As well as providing beverages and nibbles to brochures and a great selection of art work the whole thing was a success and I look forward to doing this again when it comes to the degree show.
