  I was employed by Weatherford Norge AS as a project engineer and found the job both exciting and challenging. I was part of a small department with a very flat organisational structure. There was no formal training per se, as such I was took the initiative and learnt from the more experienced engineers. I was handed a copious amount of responsibility early on, which albeit stressful, still enabled me to learn a lot during a short amount of time. I was put in the team handling Weatherford's first sub-sea full-package delivery of Completion equipment, meaning I got hands-on experience with most of the department's equipment from the get-go. As part of the project I handled document control, work orders and testing of equipment. As much of the equipment was new to the department, I was often personally needed to adjust, check and test the equipment, often also instructing the workshop employees. I was also sent to oversee operations at customer location to make sure company regulations was upheld. Another valuable experience was being part of the team sent offshore to install the completion equipment. This enabled me to gain a full-picture-view of the process, from planning to installation.
