At Ericsson, Business Unit Multimedia, my role was within Sales/Product Management and Partnering as part of the Ericsson Connected Home offering which focused on a triple play gateway software concept targeting fixed line operators globally. The responsibility included customer sales meetings, product presentations, business model, roadmap and value propositions. The work was normally performed through the local Ericsson market units in each country and another important task was the gathering of requirements in terms of customization from customers. The Product Management part covered life cycle management and maintaining the products competitiveness on the market and ensuring that the products attraction in regards to feature richness and price.

At Birdstep my responsibility covered operational line management of the product management group which included the overall responsibility for the product packaging, roadmaps, product pricing, documentation, competitor benchmarking and analysis, etc… I was also an active member of the company´s management team during this period. Being a small company, I engaged heavily in the customer/mobile operator sales activities both on technical and sales levels and represented the company on a number of congresses and fairs worldwide. I also managed several RFx processes for potential opportunities leading to successful progress of these accounts.

I joined Alice Systems AB in year 2000 as Technical Account Manager initially when the company was founded. Alice Systems AB was a software company that produced, marketed and sold connectivity software for PC’s and PDA’s, to mainly mobile operators all over the world. The software product enabled connectivity to a variety of networks such as HSPA, 3G, WiFi, GPRS, and CDMA and by this helping mobile operators to increase the revenue from these types of networks. As Technical Account Manager, I was involved directly in the sales phase globally from day one which gave me large experience of working in an international environment based on day-to-day contact with customers based basically all over the world and supporting them with both technical as well as sales oriented issues. As Project Manager I managed the software delivery projects worldwide. The typical project team involved system architects, developers, testers and UI specialists. A typical project has been consisting of between 5-10 persons. The project model used at Alice Systems AB has been RUP with an iterative project approach enabling our customers to track progress and quality closely. I have irrespectively of role been very much involved in the sales process with the potential customers I have worked with. Examples of mobile operators I have been engaged in are; T-Mobile Group Europe, Orange UK, Fareastone (Taiwan), Smartone (Hong Kong), Telenor, TeliaSonera (Sweden and Finland), TDC (Denmark), TIM (Italy), Sprint (US). In January 2005, Alice Systems AB merged with Norwegian software company Birdstep Technology AS.

Initially I worked with setting up Ericsson’s first 3G/UMTS lab environment and after 4 months I went on a short contract to Ericsson in Grimstad, Norway where I attended tests of Eriksson’s first GPRS system delivered in year 2000. After coming back from Norway, I started to work with IP security with focus on VPN’s, firewalls etc. Initially I worked with setting up Ericsson’s first 3G/UMTS lab environment and after 4 months I went on a short contract to Ericsson in Grimstad, Norway where I attended tests of Eriksson’s first GPRS system delivered in year 2000.
