    • Manager
      • May 2011 - Aug 2011

I am currently managing a small team of people on a RMU (Retail Mobile Unit) in the White Rose Shopping Centre. My main duties involve daily running of the stand, training staff, producing rotas and time sheets, re-ordering stock, re-arranging the layout of the RMU to promote different products, opening in the morning and cashing up at the end of the day, banking, selling and making sure targets are met. Also I am always on call to answer any queries or solve issues that my staff may have.

    • Consultant
      • Jan 2010 - Dec 2010

I worked for Guardian in 2010 as a mobile gold buying consultant operating around the North East region. This involved travelling to different shopping centres/towns to set up stands, RMU or a shop for daily trading. The actual purchasing of gold jewellery and other precious metals required testing to check for purity before deciding whether to buy or not. At the end of January I was in the top 5 in the region for rates, second at the end of February (out of 50) and in March was promoted to a level 2 consultant. Then I was assigned a main stand to operate out of weekly and at the end of April I managed to get this elevated to an A grade centre for the amount of customers per day as well as daily take. I completed my work with Guardian in December due to company redundancies.

I have recently done some temping work for the Bradford royal infirmary hospital as an Administrator in the Procurement department. This position required frequent use of Outlook Express and the Oracle system, which allowed for the checking of orders status through a new I Procurement system which coincided with the Oracle system.

    • Lab Technician
      • Aug 2007 - Aug 2008

In my placement year out from university I was employed as a lab technician, my main tasks involved curing and testing rubber compound samples, used for tyre building. Testing samples was achieved using a Zwick tensile machine to measure the strength of the compounds, MV200 and MV201 measured the texture/durability of samples via a Mooney and Scorch test as well as a test for an MDR. Callipers were often used to accurately measure the dimensions of certain samples. During this year I was working to deadlines, supplying shift flexibility as well as covering overtime when needed. I gained a lot of experience and skills with excel and outlook for spread sheeting results and sending emails respectively. Additional to this I was able to work well within the team as well as managing to maintain and fix machinery, as well as undertake numerous MSA studies in the test house and within the laboratory, which included providing clear and accurate graphical and numerical reports that enabled others to efficiently interpret the measurement results.
