I have been tempted out of retirement to teach an introductory chemistry class this spring semester at our local community college. The class is aimed primarily at nursing students. I have now met with the 25 or so eager students for the first time and am looking forward to a banner term. Many of the students are older and returning to the classroom to better their lives after a period of unrewarding employment. Thank goodness that there still exists an opportunity for the less advantaged among us to advance their education through the community colleges. Show less
