Provide school safety support and technical assistance to school districts and charter schools within the Region 20 area. Primary responsibilities include facilitating and delivering training, creating and executing threat assessment tabletop exercises, conducting school safety audits of campus facilities, and offering technical support regarding threat assessment cases, emergency management plans, and implementation of school safety legislative requirements. Facilitate monthly meetings with school district and university chiefs of police; as well as school district and charter school safety directors to review and discuss challenges implementing legislative requirements. Establish community partnerships with various agencies to enhance the school safety process for school partners. Develop relationships with members of local and federal law enforcement agencies by participating in various work groups (i.e., Public Safety Threat Assessment Group, San Antonio Police Department Police Chief Community Advisory Group, Handle with Care - SAPD, Female Officer/Student Mentoring – SAPD, and Success Through Respect – SAPD, San Antonio Office of Emergency Management-Mitigation Action Planning Committee, South Texas Regional Advisory Council).
