John Gassett, PMI PMP

Larry was an incredible person to work with and provided insight into every reason and strategy for competitive success. His insight in any project was essential in what objectives the client would REALLY want and also how to manage to be better against any competition. I had the chance to work with him almost daily and came away impressed by his professionalism and the knowledge that he has able to quickly assemble and direct toward success. If a recommendation is ever needed for him, feel free to contact me at any time.

Larry was a founding member of several new, innovative, and highly complex statistical examinations of the Iraq battlefield that lead to not only a much improved understanding of the competitive (i.e. battlefield) environment, but also greater safety of soldiers, and an improved level of mission effectiveness against the enemy. Larry pioneered what I call "humanistic analytics," that is, the ability to conduct a detailed, focused, quantified, and understandable statistical analysis, but also flavor the statistical portion with other pieces of information, statements by key persons, and other seemingly unrelated information. The end result was a useful, clear, and simple intelligence analysis that was completely understandable no matter the level of statistical education, but that also held up to strict mathematical scrutiny and was flavored with the "human" element so that both qualitative and quantitative sides of the intelligence analysis was presented. Larry's ability to master this "humanistic analytics" process, conduct rigorous analysis, train other members of the unit to do these tasks, and present effectively to the most senior military and government leaders was impressive. This level of skill was equally impressive due to the extreme temperatures, physical discomfort, and physical danger that Larry seemed to ignore. Larry also played a key role in the development of a database of thousands of enemy attack events that was created in a matter of days. In summary, Larry is a focused, intense, and highly skilled intelligence professional that understands the merits and limitations of quantitative analysis, but acts with speed, clarity, and initiative to create, build, and maintain effective intelligence products that directly support the successful completion of the mission.
