I have been a 1:1 tutor with young people and university students for the past 15 years in addition to a career in mainstream, special and alternative education settings.I provide adapted teaching to support a wide range of learning difficulties including autism and attention deficit in addition to dyslexic difficulties. I work with a student’s preferred learning style where possible. As a specialist tutor, I am qualified to teach children and students with dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties. The child, family, school and I work to identify difficulties and I also work with recommendations which have been given by a qualified, professional assessor.I provide highly individualised support, building on the learner’s strengths and interests to help them meet their full potential. I have the knowledge, skills and experience to support dyslexic learners at KS2 and KS3 with reading and spelling in an enjoyable, effective, multi-sensory way.I also provide study skills support for dyslexic GCSE, A level and University students which may include help planning work, organising study time and use of appropriate assistive technology.I always aim to be encouraging, positive and highly supportive as I believe building self confidence is essential for learning to be successful.
