I had occasion to read a report Lanze wrote on blockchain. She provided me with a full-length draft of the work and sought my insight. She effectively characterized her audience and provided me with a clear understanding of the document’s purpose. It was presented in an easy-to-consume format, including a blend of figures, facts, and insights. She has researched the topic to meaningful depth and included the most important details without skewing into less relevant aspects of blockchain systems. Lanze Liu strikes me as a resourceful thinker with strong skills in organizing her knowledge to the benefit of her audience.

Lanze is a great person to work with: she is brilliant, dynamic, and open to new ideas. She has an entrepreneurial mindset, with a keen perception and the ability to lead a business strategy. This is the one with whom you can think out of the box, she is optimistic and it's fun to work with. I highly recommend Lanze.

Following its success in Paris and London, the exhibition Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams opened at the Long Museum West Bund in Shanghai from July 28th to October 4th, 2020. The date was a negotiation result after rescheduled many times, and the entry by foreign nationals with business travel visa was suspected due to the COVID-19 epidemic in mainland China. On 12th June, Dior urgently looked for an English-Chinese translator to translate all their guide videos about the preparation of the haute couture for this exposition, the work had to be done on 15th June, so the Chinese staffs could have started to learn the procedures and to prepare for the exposition. I was the only one who took the job and worked over 40 hours within 3 days to finish the translation work. I have acknowledged that it would be a heavy workload, though it was extremely heavy, I successfully finished the work with the video editor on time, which significantly helped Dior to chase its schedule. This part time work gave me a chance to learn about not only design and production of haute coutures but also brand cultural management and fashion industry development. The charm and value of constructive fashion works give me brainstorm about alternative investment and cultural economics.

    • Guangdong Incubator Association Intern
      • Jun 2017 - Jul 2017

The association is a provincial government department in Guangdong province, a highly developed area with active technological innovation and continuous economical opportunities in China. The functions of the association mainly focus on the full implementation of regional and national policies, guidelines, laws, regulations and measures to scientific and technological projects. My mission is to promote and advise regional and national policies to startups, and to get feedback from them about the difficulties and opportunities in the business, which will be helpful to improve the related governmental measures. I worked there for a short period due to the later studies in France. Working there to research and discover the potential, development and shortage of startups with talents of different and excellent academic backgrounds gives me an deeper insight into the practice of new projects. I understand the struggles of a young startups, the importance of the governmental supports and the determination and skills of the talents to advance the work. I learnt to be a bridge to connect the government and the industry.

At that time, Yi Xin Investment was entering the international school industry, a rapidly developing industry in China. Therefore, I was responsible for researching the international kindergarten industry in China and promoting the company's international kindergarten projects to the potential investors. The company has already invested to build an international bilingual kindergarten in Guangzhou and gradually receives more children. This internship presented me a whole realizing process of a project, I felt the passion and the ambition behind a project and experienced the obstacles and issues to achieve it. Also, I learnt more about the educational industry in China, a fast expanding industry to meet the increasing needs of the family - to make a successful, competitive and brilliant child in as many aspects as possible.

    • Audit Department Intern
      • Jan 2016 - Mar 2016

Responsible for reviewing spreadsheet data, materials and procedures to ensure the validity, compliance and timeliness of the operations. The auditing work gave me a very good training in many aspects: keeping patient while facing countless materials, dealing with the conflicts of interest while bearing the pressure of different departments, focusing on every detail to verify the procedures, etc. This internship showed me the importance of the accounting and auditing, without effective information from these work, the company will lose the key indicator source to examine its development, and many important financial models also rely on the provided data to produce a reliable result. I have plans to learn more knowledge and skills about accounting and auditing in the future, which is useful and helpful for the financial management.

Presenting selected portfolios of stocks and funds to the investors and tracking their performance; analzing market actuality and trends. The biggest outcome of this experience was that I saw the huge impact of national policies and governmental guidelines on the investor behaviors and emotions. Since the Chinese government plays a deterministic role in economical and financial development, its plans are considered to guide the industrial development, therefore investors often make decisions based on the latest official news, and a collective investing decisions affect the individual stock's price, or even the related industry. I developed my idea about this phenomenon in two analytic projects: one discusses the trading situation once the trading rule changes to "T+0", another one discusses the relationship between the Chinese investor behavior and the fluctuations of the Chinese stock market. Both conclude that at current Chinese market, investors are easily to be affected by the information no matter it's fake or true, longing a portfolio due to herd behavior shows the risk of investment in the Chinese financial market, which is easily to be used by the short side.

Responsible for tracking the updates of insurance policies and informing the insurance applicants; comparing the products among competitors', especially from the Hong Kong insurance companies' since their products are more mature than the mainland China's, and drafting the insurance proposals to the potential insurance applicants. Before this internship, I have already known the business operations and services from the Hong Kong insurance companies, which attract increasing amounts of Chinese applicants for years. Though the Chinese Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission took measures to restrict the business expansion of Hong Kong insurance companies so that the Chinese insurance companies may have more market shares in mainland China but the advantages of insurance products, policies and financial environment still attempt Chinese applicants deeply. Plus, overall speaking, for Chinese insurance salesmen(women), their professional ethnics, practicing disciplines, the specialty competence and the professional obligations of the practicing personnel engaging in business are relevant weaker and less qualified than the Hong Kong insurance salesmen(women), causing that the Chinese society has longstanding stereotype and low confidence of the insurance industry in China. This internship also lets me review the difference between Chinese insurance industry and Hong Kong's, the competition pushes the reform of the former one and brings the vitality to the latter one.
