I was fortunate to work with Landy on the grand opening of the beautiful Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts located in the heart of Downtown Orlando. Landy was the titled Assistant Box Office Manager, but she did so much more. She and her Box Office Manager, Nick Smith, created an out of this world team of part time ticket sellers and ambassadors. Landy has an excellent eye for talent and for cultivating new skills for employees with potential. She has sharp and excellent computer skills and built online show platforms for our inaugural season of shows in Tessitura. Arts or Entertainment startup are rare and the opportunities they provide for entrepreneurial spirited people are unique. Landy accepted every challenge thrown her way with zest and gusto. She assisted in developing a wonderful culture built around respect, empathy and kindness. She was respected by her team for her fair management style, her ability to mentor, and her approachability. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to open the Art Center and contribute to a cultural revolution in Central Florida, and Landy's contribution to our successful opening and exciting first season of shows and events are many. She'll be missed.
