After starting out as an intern and then becoming an assistant, I have now headed up the marketing for one of the north’s leading music, food & drink event operators for several years. Day-to-day I manage 10+ social media accounts for all of our brands and events covering everything from electronic music club nights, music festivals plus large-scale food and craft beer festivals. For each brand I manage everything from content creation, strategy and budgets all the way down to ensuring great customer service and engagement. Over the years we have launched a new food festival, welcoming in a six-figure attendance, as well as developing one of Leeds' trademark bank holiday events into a 24 hour sell out.

During lockdown 1.0 in the UK, I set up my own side hustle - a football merchandise website. Using the illustration skills I had self-taught in recent years, I designed a range of football posters, built a brand and designed a Shopify website. In almost 12 months, I have sold over 800 units to over 30 different countries across both Shopify and Etsy - using social media, Facebook ads and Google ads to promote my business. After completing college I decided to embark on some full-time work experience to gain an understanding of life outside of education and also so that I could ensure that the University course I ended up taking, was the right one.No one wants to spend 9k per year on a course they don't end up enjoying!
