Lance is an ideal colleague on every level, and someone I cannot recommend enough. He was always willing to listen and teach and even helped me become more comfortable understanding more technical concepts over time. For example, as he was the company's scrum master, we did a white-boarding session where he explained the value and concepts of agile methodologies, and I ended up getting my own Certified Scrum Master certification as a result. Lance was also very active on the DEI committee and was an ally and advocate for every person on the team. On top of that, he is a world-class engineer and truly one of the best in his field. It would be a shame for anyone to pass up working with Lance because he is absolutely one-of-a-kind.

Versatile and hardworking are qualities that comes to mind when I think about Lance. I had the pleasure of supervising him during his summer co-op at Butler/Till. During that brief period of time, Lance impressed with his calm, methodical and thorough approach to projects. Above all, I was impressed with Lance’s ability to independently adjust to and thrive in a new environment. He didn't shy away from new opportunities/projects and I was pleased with what he developed during his time with us. And, of course, his easygoing personality was a pleasure to be around. Lance would be a true asset for any positions requiring front-end and back-end web development and comes with my heartfelt recommendation.

I built features for the end user and admin experiences. Features included an accomplishment tracker, competency alignment tool, and job-level mapping tools. I worked with React, Typescript, and NextJS. In addition to delivering a pixel-perfect frontend, I contributed to building out Node backend services, and GraphQL endpoints while gaining exposure to Postgres with Sequalize. Furthermore, I lead efforts to improve sprint processes and ran sprint retro, which resulted in increased sprint velocity and overall team productivity and satisfaction. Show less
