Bio
Jim Vogt
Lance is very detailed and organised, great qualities for a police administrator. More importantly, I hired Lance to be part of the Idaho Springs Police Community because of his personality. A great small town cop is harder to find than a metro are officer. Why? Personality, Friendliness, Compassionate but Firm Commitment to Duty and Service, Judgment and Community Interaction are all paramount (even if they sometimes do not agree with each other.) You cannot teach that to Cops that come from bigger towns and cities. Lance has the unique ability to to walk the tightrope that exists in our homegrown and smaller, well established communities where we all know each other. (I will say from experience, it is an emotional struggle to arrest a friend or colleague that you know well. But, we a small town cops and, more importantly, as community members, must uphold our obligation to those we have sworn an oath to.) Lance can walk that tightrope while providing dignity to those he contacts while, at the same time, living up to the trust of the community. Please welcome Lance as a Community Member first, and a community Police Officer second. / Jim Vogt, Deputy Chief of Police (retired).

Cashier / Count team / Main Banker
-
Sep 1993 - Mar 1997
Cashier: Responsible for helping customers with cashing checks, money grams, as well as collect customers winning and paying them out correctly. On an Average day I would process $80,000 to $100,000 through my window. Count Team: I work with what was referred to as the "soft count" team. A three man team, we would take the collected cash, and chip box's that had been collected from the earlier days business. We would sort the chips from the blackjack and poker tables, count and log them. We would take the bill collectors from the slot machines, put that into a denomination separator then count, strap, and record the amounts. After all monies were counted and logged we would transfer the money to the Main Bank (Casino Bank). We would process on an average day between $750,000 to $1,250,000. Main Banker: As the main banker I was responsible for keeping all the main banks and satellite backs supplied with enough cash, coin and chips, to manage the business levels for each days projected business. I would also take transfers in from the count teams, hard count would handle all the coin in monies, while the soft count team would handle all the cash and chip monies. Show less
