Task was to study past data sets and observations of this star and apply star classification models and light extinction models to understand fully the molecular cloud in the foreground of this star. • Evaluated multiple large data sets using Python, assessed what data was appropriate and generated detailed plots that accurately conveyed the findings of the research to further the understanding of the interstellar medium. • Analyzed data used in conjunction with multiple models of star classifications and light extinction, to explain the discrepancy in past assumptions. • Discovered that the star HD210121 is a B6V star as opposed to a B3V which was the previous thought classification for that star. • Performed a literature review and extracted relevant data from dozens of scientific papers to ensure accuracy in the data models used. • Synthesized and presented research results to about 50 peers and faculty.
