I provide advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. As a victim of domestic violence calls, I am able to write a summary of what had been said and report their need for shelter. I am also able to assist anyone in shelter or someone who calls any local resources that they need. I provide advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. The majority of the work at my internship was to sit in on non-offending caregiver meetings and write a summary of the meeting. Other responsibilities that were required included accompanying and monitoring children in the lobby, working with the desk receptionist to make sure that all organizational work was done correctly and in a timely manner, and educating families about abuse. I received training and subsequently was responsible for writing summaries based upon the content of the victims’ forensic interviews. I completed 250 hours. Show less
