  As a DAT responder I am a member of the Disaster Action Team which responds to incidents large and small and provides aid to clients for immediate emergency related needs. As a DAT Duty Officer it is my responsibility to take incoming calls and dispatch response teams and support their response throughout the event within the scope of the American Red Cross response.The position of DAT Coordinator is a steady state or non-emergency position that monitors the Disaster Action Team members and provides guidance for volunteers to increase their knowledge base and move into greater role within the DAT teams.Government Liaison Officer for Morris County working with both County and local Emergency Managers and Elected officials to assist in preparedness and mitigation planning. Disaster Response Team Member providing sheltering, client casework and recovery, damage assessment, and emergency supply distribution.

  Fielded calls from potential students and assisted them in registering for Red Cross courses. I handled payments for the classes, and sometimes purchases of Red Cross products. I managed LMS/SABA LMS for client information as well as Red Cross resources. Assisted with data entry in the National Shelter System database to maintain current shelter availability list. Acted as the Shelter Desk operator in the Disaster Operation Center when shelters were opened for disaster relief in our jurisdiction.
