• Wrote and secured a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Small Project Assistance (SPA) grant of $8,214 and a Let Girls Learn (LGL) grant of $5,507 for a water and sanitation hygiene (WASH) education and development project in The Gambia. •Designed and assisted two youth in illustrating and painting six murals on the NGO Child Fund’s center within the village. •Conducted and supported the Community Health Nurse (CHN) in giving a health talk on prevention and treatment methods for malaria to 38 members of the village •Developed a five week sex education course for 9th graders. This course covered the topics of puberty, how to make reusable menstrual pads, sex, teenage pregnancy, STIs, and HIV. •14 male and 36 female youth were trained on how to create their own reusable menstrual pads and personal hygiene •Supported four consistent students in STEM course work for a year and half •Trained 180 Peace Corps volunteers on diversity issues within the Peace Corps community. These issues ranged from language group difference to conversations about colonization in The Gambia •Consistently checked in once a month for a year and a half with Peace Corps Volunteers residing in the West Coast Region of The Gambia to provide emotional support. •Trained 35 SOS youth orphans, five high school students, and five community members on reproductive anatomy. Participants recreated reproductive organs using fruits and vegetables.
