I have worked with Lakshmi for several years and have been impressed with and drawn to her tireless commitment to quality that accompanies Lakshmi's desire to be active in her respective field. During my time serving as Chair of the newly formed Audit Committee of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Lakshmi served in the capacity of General Counsel for NAEYC. This professional tying was above the regular call of duty, but Lakshmi choose to learn the workings of this new committee alongside me, which put us in co-learner roles. Although a work in progress during the first year, the culminating experience of that first year led to a presentation of the Auditing process and report to the Board at large. Although it would have been easy for Lakshmi to pass this off as my responsibility as Chair, we partnered on the presentation and her partnership, creativity and ideas were simply invaluable. In my experiences with Lakshmi, she has been professional, thoughtful, kind, and courteous. Lakshmi has never been afraid to push back on ideas or give life to ideas so they may move forward. Her work has always been of the highest quality and while learning is no easy task within any organization, Lakshmi has displayed skill in being a good learner, helping others to learn, and communicating the necessary components of that learning.
