While doing this, I also help to disseminate information from the DCS and/or other management to therapists when assigned as needed. Some of my additional duties include: • Being responsible for performing social services functions which include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them access to therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. • Providing counsel to patients individually or through group education regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems using evaluative techniques and develops and implements therapeutic treatment. • Providing education, social work services, basic consultation, and crisis intervention. • Occasionally needing to staff in as an InPatient Therapist, and fulfilling all the duties of that job role.

A breakdown of some of my job responsibilities include: • Conducting individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems. • Working with Dr’s in treatment planning process. • Providing family session counseling to all patients and ensuring appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups. • Actively communicating with clients, families, and outside referral sources. • Demonstrating appropriate crises intervention and de-escalation skills. Acting as a member of a team when crisis situations occur, assisting others to ensure patient safety. • Active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment processes.
