As a guide for Takaya tours I was responsible for leading canoeing orientations to student and adult groups of up to 100 people. This involved being responsible for steering a 30+ foot long canoe through wind and rain (and some nice blue-sky days) while making sure the clients were safe and having fun. As a construction laborer I was responsible for using power tools to fix/refurbish the buildings around the construction site. This involved tasks such as making a new set of stairs that met the construction safety standards from the scrap wood that was available.
