      I took this role as an opportunity to work closer to the marine industry. Since initially being employed I have gained more responsibility in a customer service role as well as had the opportunity to gain my GPH ticket to work onboard the Manly Fast Ferry vessels as a Deckhand.       For 2 months I had the opportunity to experience a trainee program based on tanker vessels and 24m Stebers. Within this program, I learnt a vast range of knowledge about this industry and the expectations as a deckhand within this role. Within the month I was confident with line handling and communication with the team as well as getting the experience of working alongside the Australian Defence Force including the Royal Australian Navy. For 2 months I had the opportunity to experience a trainee program based on tanker vessels and 24m Stebers.
