This position requires me to undertake a variety of different roles in a fast-paced, high turnover cafe. Due to the size of the cafe, we often have a large number of staff on shift at the same time, so I also need to be flexible and able to regularly switch between roles, some of which include - Making coffees - Taking orders from customers, often operating multiple tills simultaneously - Hot and food preparation - Counting the tills at the end of the day - Cleaning cafe… Show more This position requires me to undertake a variety of different roles in a fast-paced, high turnover cafe. Master of Pharmacy Project

As part of my Master of Pharmacy degree at The University of Western Australia, I completed a year long unit that required me to team up with two fellow students Jade Clifford and Lawson Patten-Williams to conduct a project of our choice with a community partner. The aim of this project was to identify a need of the community partner, and address it with a self driven project. The aim of this project was to identify a need of the community partner, and address it with a self driven project. Based on our collective experiences on placement last year, we identified asthma management in community pharmacy as an area that needed addressing. Together with a local pharmacy, we were able to create an information flyer that was handed out with every Salbutamol sale. The purpose of this simple, easy to understand flyer was to help educate patients on the importance of good asthma control, and what that looks like in practice. As a future pharmacist, it was a good introduction to the important role I will play in collaborating with other healthcare professionals to help achieve optimal outcomes for patients, as highlighted by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia’s (PSA) Care Principle 2. Other key PSA competency standards I addressed during this project included 1.1, 1.6, 2.2, 4.2, 5.3.

I attended a face to face Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course in order to attain basic life saving skills that are not only crucial for a pharmacist to possess, but also useful for non-medical professionals to have. The course consisted of a three hour online learning module that provided the relevant theory, followed by a two hour face to face session that put the learnt theory into practice. The course consisted of a three hour online learning module that provided the relevant theory, followed by a two hour face to face session that put the learnt theory into practice. Whilst this was only a basic foundation course, it does provide me with a solid foundation to further up skill myself in other related courses that are more advanced, such as using specialised oxygen equipment and airway management devices, as well as a variety of different first aid courses. This course highlighted the importance of continued professional development in the pharmacy profession, in order to ensure I am constantly learning and keeping up with the latest innovations and scientific advances (PSA NCA 1.4, 4.1, 4.2).

I attended a face to face multiculturalism and medication management seminar that was run by Dr Alex Balzarelli, a GP with over 20 years experience in Aboriginal Health. The seminar primarily focused on the key aspects of health, and how these ideologies differ greatly between Western and Indigenous communities, which is why there is a need for different types of health care services and organisations. As my first proper exposure to the world of pharmacy, this placement offered me a great opportunity to see how well I could translate my theoretical knowledge and apply it in a practical setting. It also allowed me to develop new pharmacy-relevant skills I previously had no exposure to, such as OTC and prescription medication knowledge, dispensing and counselling. It was also very insightful to learn more about the other services a pharmacy has to offer, such as Webster Packs, vaccinations and… Show more As my first proper exposure to the world of pharmacy, this placement offered me a great opportunity to see how well I could translate my theoretical knowledge and apply it in a practical setting. Wembley Downs Coached a year 9, 10 and 11/12 team in a span of 3 years. This involved working at times with another co-coach, or as a stand-alone coach, with the aim of prioritising player development over winning, whilst trying to keep it enjoyable for the players as well. This also required regular attendance at coaches’ functions and/or information evenings run by the WA Football Commission.
