As the Atlas Zero Waste and Special Projects Fellow, my primary role is to continue my work with USD's Office of Sustainability as community partners. I conduct interviews with stakeholders and work towards the completion of the Atlas Zero Waste Stage 1 Certifiacation. I also, work to engage the USD campus community by collaborating with other students in the office to plan and execute outreach events on campus. My position with College Corps aims to provide us fellows with extensive social, academic, and networking opportunities. Show less

As President of the Sustainability Club I aim to provide the USD student population with sustainable news, information, meetings, initiatives, and events. The Sustainability Club also offers opportunities for the USD community to become involved with the Office of Sustainability. We meet twice a month; once for a "Changemaker Meeting" in which we work on the implementation of sustainable initiatives on campus, and the second being a fun, sustainable event. These events have or will include beach clean-ups, sustainable cooking classes, sustainable sewing classes, Pop-up thrift events, etc. Many events and initiatives work in collaboration and/or partnership with other on-campus student and professional organizations. • Eco-Resident and Special Projects Student Assistant
      • Feb 2023 - May 2023

As the Eco-Resident Program/Special Projects Assistant, I worked to advance student sustainability-related education via the Eco-Resident Program and supporting special projects of the Office of Sustainability. Through the Eco-Resident Certification Program, I engaged with students on campus regarding their sustainable behaviors within the confines of their living quarters, on campus, or Zoom. This consisted of assessing student behaviors, recording the outcomes, and providing participants with ideas for improvement. In addition, I was responsible for reading and tracking energy meters of Palomar Hall, and relaying information to the residents of the hall. I also provided support for ideas that influence the USD campus community to engage in sustainability issues. This may have included developing a plan to reach out to the campus population, assess needs, disseminate sustainability plans and initiatives, as well as create new initiatives. I also assisted with event planning (securing venue space, catering, supplies, etc.) and implementation, zero-waste related projects, and water and land management projects. Show less
