Mar 2012 - Sep 2012
The White House Peace Vigil is a nonstop vigil for peace and anti-nuclear protest which has stood in front of the White House in Washington DC for 31 years. It requires to become diligent in research on the issues around Nuclear weapons, current political affairs, political theory, philosophy, and all peace oriented causes and issues. With that grasped information, the duties of the person on shift are to upkeep and maintain the vigil, such as cleaning and organizing. Public speaking is a necessary skill while on duty, and speaking to groups of more than 30 people multiple times in an hour is a regular occurrence. One must be able to calmly debate, discuss, and inform people of all ages, backgrounds and types in order to represent their opinion and the historical protest in the highest light possible.
