During the COVID-19 pandemic, I managed the day-to-day financial processes of four operations: (1) a music school, (2) a music venue and bar, (3) a practice studio, and (4) a promotional arm. A major project was transforming these processes to be "COVID safe". Which we did, all the while retaining more or less a third of our customer base. I prepared financial statements, cash forecasts, and budget reports. I wore many hats apart from bookkeeping like managing payroll, paying sales and use tax, managing inventory, renewing employee benefits, and applying for PPP loans and COVID-19 related grants. I was entirely self-taught with a little (a lot) of help from mentors and colleagues. I skilled-up by taking accounting courses at my community college and being open to seeking help. I later became certified in Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Fathom. Show less

My first year of selling music lessons, I added a minimum of $20,000 of recurring monthly revenue. I averaged 85% conversion rate of all inbound trial lessons. I created new processes around selling and the sales pipeline. An example is when I implemented a CRM system that integrated into Gmail. It automated follow-ups and reduced lead leakage.
