  - Experience with executing and monitoring a wide variety of efficacy and PK/PD studies using in vivo infection models.- Handling/manipulation of various laboratory mouse strains (BALB/C, C57Bl/6, ICR, etc.) for various bodily injections of: BSL2 pathogens (C. difficile, E. coli, S. aureus, etc.) in order to establish an infection; positive control antibiotics effective at treating each infection, and novel therapeutics provided by clients for efficacy evaluation in fighting pathogenic infections in laboratory rodents.- Handling, immunocompromisation, lung infection, and bone infection in laboratory rats (Sprague Dawley).- Proficiency with various dosing routes of administration using needles and syringes to infect and treat laboratory mice such as IP (intraperitoneal), IM (intramuscular), SC (subcutaneous), IN (intranasal), IV (intravenous), and PO (oral gavage).- Proficiency with the 12 port modular Oral-Nasal Aerosol and Respiratory Exposure Systems (ONARES) and Aeroneb Pro Nebulizer for delivering treatments to laboratory rodents with a lung infection.- Calculation of drug dosages, as well as formulation and dilution of targeted client drug concentrations.- Formulation and administration of an antibiotic cocktail to laboratory mice.- Harvesting, homogenization, and CFU plating of laboratory rodent body tissues including blood, kidneys, liver, lungs, spleen, BALF, etc., in order to determine the bacterial burden in each tissue and compare efficacy of different treatments.- Processing of blood samples from laboratory rodents in order to extract serum and plasma for cytokine counts and other analyses.- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for designing tables for data entry and organization.- Familiarity with typical laboratory equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, autoclaves, sonicators, vortexes, hot plates, water baths and incubators.- General knowledge of laboratory safety and cleanliness.- General husbandry of laboratory rodents.
