I have had the pleasure of working closely with Kyle Maguire since March 2013. He is a smart, diligent, and thorough engineer. Kyle was a student with us for a summer internship before starting full-time as a Field Operations Engineer in February 2013. He was moved into the Calgary office as a Production Engineer in January of 2015. In the field, Kyle was located at our Saleski Carbonate C-SAGD pilot facility and our Germain Grand Rapids SAGD facility. He was responsible in large part for communicating the production, reservoir goals and well optimization strategies to the rest of the Field Ops team, which he did admirably. Kyle was also responsible for reporting daily production, investigating, initiating, and assisting the sustaining group with fixing, optimizing, and improving the plant equipment and its operations. The projects he took on were always done to the highest standards. When Kyle transitioned into the Calgary office he assisted the senior Production Engineers with all aspects of their work. Kyle also worked closely with Sustaining Projects and Facility Engineers to evaluate the feasibility of adding more steam capacity to the Saleski Pilot. While assuming a fairly large component of the process engineering, he did an excellent job of determining the additional volumes of oil, fresh/produced water, and steam as well as determining where bottlenecks might occur. This aided in making recommendations to the Facilities group for sizing and estimating the cost of the upgraded equipment. As production and plant activities ramped down at Saleski he assisted with mothballing and closing out over a hundred MOCs that had been done over the previous 2 years. I would recommend Kyle to any organization looking for a solid, competent, young engineer.
