Within GM Instruments I will be working as an electrical manufacturing engineering apprentice. GM Instruments is one of the leading manufacturers of Nasal Congestion Measurement, Respiratory Flow Measurement and Audiometry products. The job is split up into 4 days working and 1 day studying at college. The working week consists of being paired with another worker and going through the manufacturing process from start to finish making sure to pay close attention to detail to work place procedures and instructions. Another element to the job that I am progressing with is also the Electrical engineering aspect, this has allowed me to learn how to set up the products we produce and put them through testing and calibration before they are shipped out to customers. This has allowed me to also get some hands on experience with inspection any products sent back into us for repairs and has allowed me to inspect and identify where the problem is coming from to then be able to repair before re testing to then ship back out. During my time with Santander I was trained as a Financial support Specialist, the role itself was a remote customer facing role which was used to support customers facing financial difficulties. The job has allowed me to develop a variety of different skills that have progressed my own development. Fact finding was required with every customer to find out the route cause of the problem so this meant being able to communicate well with a variety of different people and being able you use different question techniques in order to understand what was needed to provide correct support. Problem solving was also areas that have progressed with my time at Santander as due to the nature of calls received not each customer was the same and allowed for some to be reluctant to seek the help provided to them.
